Volunteers Make a Difference

The Martinez Unified School District is proud of its strong tradition of community engagement and volunteerism. We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and talents that our volunteers bring to our schools. Your support directly enriches the educational experience for our students and strengthens the bonds within our school communities.

Students are our number one priority, and your involvement whether in the classroom, on field trips, at events, or behind the scenes helps ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive. Thank you for choosing to be part of this important work.

Before beginning service, all volunteers must complete MUSD’s clearance process.

In alignment with California State Assembly Bill 506 and Assembly Bill 848, all MUSD volunteers will be required to complete a Livescan fingerprint background check as well as mandated reporter and sexual harassment prevention training to be eligible to volunteer.

Process for School Volunteers

  1. Log in to the Arbitar volunteer management system.
  2. Choose a volunteer level. You may choose Level One (no driving) or Level Two (with driving clearance).
  3. Complete Live Scan and TB requirements.
  4. Upload appropriate documents.
  5. Complete the Mandated Reporter training annually and the Sexual Harassment Prevention training every two (2) years. Upload certificates of completion to your Arbiter registration.

To learn more about volunteering, including details about the clearance process and volunteer categories, please review the MUSD Volunteer Handbook and FAQ documents linked on this page.

We look forward to working together in support of an outstanding school year. Thank you for your partnership.
