ELOP stands for Expanded Learning Opportunities Program. This program was initiated by the California Department of Education.
“Expanded learning” means before school, after school, summer, or intersession learning programs that focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of pupils through hands-on, engaging learning experiences.

At the board meeting on Monday, April 28 the Martinez Unified Board of Education voted to approve the contract with Champions for the 2025-26 Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP). We want to remind families that we remain in partnership with Right at School through July 2025 and there will not be a pause or gap in services for all those currently participating in the ELO-Program.
For the 2025-26 School Year: Priority registration begins Monday May 12. Champions will contact eligible families directly via email and then later by phone to start the process. Please check your email for more information from representatives from Champions. Our goal is to initiate general registration by the first week of June.General registration will be for interested families who do not meet the unduplicated student criteria. MUSD after-school Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) with Right at School
Martinez Unified School District is pleased to announce expanded learning opportunities as an option for all MUSD students in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 6th grade. This extended day program is a partnership between Martinez Unified and Right at School.
“Expanded learning” means after-school, summer, or intersession learning that focuses on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of pupils through hands-on, engaging learning experiences.
Each of our four elementary schools and Martinez Junior High will be hosting this extended school program that will run until 6:00 p.m. each day.
Right At School will provide the staffing and a daily program focused on homework support, enrichment, social-emotional wellness, and more!
Important: Some families are eligible, based on state guidelines, to have their student attend entirely free of cost and receive priority status. Families will be notified directly if they are eligible for this status.
