Summer 2023

This year MUSD will be offering extended learning opportunities for students. All programs will be offered in person. 

Our Elementary Program will be invitation-only for current K-5th grade students currently registered as a student in MUSD. Students are referred for participation by teachers and school sites. Students recommended will receive communication from the Martinez Unified School District with enrollment details.

Our Credit Recovery High School Program, will continue to use EdGenuity for current 9th-11th grade students. English, math, science, and history courses will be available for grade improvement identified students. Spaces are limited to capacity. This program will be offered in person.

Summer Learning Programs will take place from Tuesday, June 13th through Thursday, July 13th  (no school June 19th, July 3rd, and July 4th).

HOURS AND LOCATIONS

Current K-5th Academic Support @ John Muir Elementary School
8:15 - 11:45 am

High School Credit Recovery @ Martinez Junior High School
8:30 am - 12:45 pm


Credit recovery courses are in-person. Students will be assigned to attend morning or early afternoon class sessions (8:30-10:30 or 10:45-12:45). All students must attend in person daily. All coursework will be done online through Edgenuity. Students will be dropped from the program after 3 absences, with no exceptions.

EL (English Language) Enrichment: grades 6-12 @ MJHS
Students: 9:00 -12:00

Summer school instruction will focus on key concepts in order for students to develop their English language skills. This course will focus on foundational literacy skills while addressing the collaborative, interpretive, and productive language development of newcomer ELs in preparation for a successful school year.

ESY MEIPP @ JME
Students: 8:30 - 11:00

ESY 6-12+ @ MJHS
Students: 8:15 - 12:15

Food Service: Morning and afternoon meals will be available.

 

EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR (ESY)

ESY will be held in-person this summer. ESY will take place from Tuesday, June 13th through Thursday, July 13th (no school June 19th, July 3rd, and July 4th).

ESY is for students who are eligible for summer services through their Individual Education Plan (IEP). Case managers and special education educators have contacted the families of students who are eligible for services. ESY teachers will be in contact with families before June 1st with more details about the program and get students set up.

RIGHT AT SCHOOL

Right At School (ELO-P)
This program is an option for all current MUSD students in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 6th grade. This program is a partnership between Martinez Unified and Right at School
